The EU-and-Turkey-project offers students the chance for a summer school in Kusadasi (Turkey). The school to be held in Kuşadası will have duration of one week and help disseminate academic knowledge about such themes as EU’s enlargement policy towards Turkey and the Western Balkans and Turkey’s EU accession and its implications.
In addition to the lectures, the summer academy includes cultural activities, visits and tours in Kusadasi and its surroundings.
Courses include:
* Turkey-EU Relations: A Historical Review
* EU Neighbourhood Policy and the Role of Turkey
* EU’s Transformative Power in the Western Balkans and Turkey,
* Euro-Turks: Turkish Migrants in the EU and their Role for Turkey’s European Integration
* the EU after the Lisbon Treaty
* Euroscepticism in the EU and Candidate Countries
* State, Society and Politics in Turkey
* European identity and the question of Turkish “affiliation”
* Turkish Foreign Policy in the 21st century
Eligibility
Senior undergraduate students, MA students and beginning PhD students in the EU, candidate countries and Turkey in the fields of political science, international relations and European studies are invited to apply to the summer academy.
Application
* 500-word letter of motivation
* a one-page CV
* transcripts (for undergraduate students), Bachelor’s grade record (for Master students), or Master grade record (for PhD students) (all in PDF or Word format)

Costs
Registration fee: 100€
Selected candidates will be provided full grants for participating in the Summer School, which includes round-trip air fare ticket to Turkey up to € 350 for
students from the European countries outside of Turkey, transfers between Izmir Airport and the venue of the summer school, all the activities, visits, tours and transportation in the Summer Academy programme.
