The School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds invites applications from research students who are wishing to commence study in September 2011 for the following award.
The school will be offering up to two bursaries to candidates from the United Kingdom or other European Union countries to commence full-time study in September 2011.
Eligibility
The School invites applications from suitably qualified graduates (first or good upper second) and current undergraduates who expect to attain a good degree, who wish to undertake postgraduate research for three (PhD) or four years (MA + PhD).
Scholarship
The bursaries will cover full fees and a basic maintenance grant plus payment for teaching duties equivalent in total to the ESRC maintenance grant (the amount for 2010/11 is £13,590).
Application Procedure
Applications for postgraduate study must be submitted prior to applications for bursaries and awards.
Candidates should normally submit a CV, including details of any relevant teaching experience, and a brief statement supporting their case, normally one side of A4 to:
