Balkan Cultural Cooperation Programme

Open to: skilled journalists from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Serbia, and Macedonia

BIRN – Balkan Investigative Regional Reporting Network is launching a call for ten journalists with strong interest in cultural policy and regional cooperation to participate in new regional project, funded by the Swiss Cultural Program in the Western Balkans.

The project offers:
–    Initial joint training workshop in analytical reporting, online media and internet social networking
–    Participation in the regional conference where networking between editors, journalists and cultural representatives will be strongly encouraged
–    A study visit to one of the capitals of the participating countries
–    Contribute one analysis per month (paid) to the prestigious BIRN’s online outlet
–    Republishing articles in the journalist’s media outlet
–    Working in direct contact with colleagues from the region
–    Opportunity to become a member of the growing network of BIRN’s analytical and investigative journalists in the Balkans after the end of the project

Eligibility

* minimum two years of journalistic experience;
* strong interest in cultural development;
* application is supported by the editor of the media outlet for which the journalist works;
* eligible countries: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Serbia and Macedonia

Application

* letter of motivation with contact details;
* recent CV emphasizing previous experience;
* letter from the editor of the outlet the journalist is employed by (if employed), confirming their willingness to provide the journalist with the possibility to participate in the project;
* spoken and written English
