These scholarships are available for the six specializations in the PhD programme at NHH; Accounting and Auditing, Economics, Professional Communication, Finance, Management Science, and Strategy and Management. Each scholarship is for a period of four years and combines taking a PhD programme at NHH with working as a research scholar. PhD research scholars are required to work as a teaching and/or research assistant for the department they are admitted to on enrolling in the PhD programme. The work requirement corresponds to 25 % of a full position a year, with the remaining 75 % being dedicated to the successful completion of a PhD.

The scholarships are subject to Norwegian taxes and benefits, including health care provision and membership of the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

  1. I am glad to have the info above in respect to pursuing a PhD in Business Administration. It's quite uneasy to pursue a PhD in Africa and yet we would like to develop our nations here but funds do not permit us, i wonder if i can have an opportunity to study a PhD in Business in Norway. Are there opportunities for a scholarship and what are the charges for doing it when not sponsored?

I am completing my degree of Master of Business Administration in Management at Ndejje University in Uganda.

I will be grateful for your positive response.

    Kind regards,

    Michael Kimpi

    1. Dear Stephen,

I am not sure what you mean by "can I apply this year after i have completed the MBA this April 2012". Do you mean can you apply for the 1 February deadline, even thou you haven't completed your MBA yet? I don think you can, seeing as one of the requirements is for candidates to already have a Master's degree. But, you will still be eligible to apply for the 1 November deadline.
To make sure I would advise you to contact the PhD admission office at NHH: phd@nhh.no They are best suited to answer your question.

      Kind regards
