PhD Studentship: Patient Safety, University of Leeds

This studentship is a collaboration between the University of Leeds and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be based at the Institute of Psychological Sciences, University of Leeds (supervised by Dr Daryl O’Connor & Dr Peter Gardner), but the majority of work will be undertaken at the Bradford Royal Infirmary, with supervision provided by Dr Jane Ward at the Bradford Institute for Health Research.

Requirements

– Applicants should hold (or be about to obtain) a first or upper second class honours degree in psychology or a related area such as health sciences
– Good oral communication skills

* Applications are strongly encouraged from students who also hold a masters degree in a relevant subject (e.g. organisational psychology, health psychology, patient safety) or have a clinical qualification/ experience of working in the NHS.

Funding

This studentship is available to UK and other EU nationals, and provides fees and a tax-free stipend of £13,590, subject to eligibility.

The closing date for applications is Friday 30th July 2010, with interviews held on Thursday 19th August 2010.
