Open to: graduates from secondary schools and university graduates from Macedonia intending to obtain university degree, Master or PhD in Slovak Republic

The Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic offers the possibility of study in the Slovak Republic to 20 graduates from secondary schools, university graduates from Macedonia, who are intending to obtain university degree, Master or PhD in Slovakia.
The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Skopje offers 20 scholarships for 10-months language and academic preparation at the Institute of Language and Academic Preparation for Foreign Students of the Center of Further Education, Comenius University in Bratislava. The date for commencing the 10-month language and academic preparation is September 6th, 2010.
The study is focused on language and academic preparation for entrance examination for the universities in the Slovak Republic for the purpose of their further full-time master/engineer, or PhD. study in the Slovak Republic within study programs with technical orientation (IT, engineering, biology, physics, agriculture etc. ) The scholarships are not designed for preparation for study in Social Sciences, Economics, Law, Pedagogy, Medicine, etc.
The study at the universities in the Slovak Republic is performed within 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree of the university studies (i.e. bachelor (3 years), engineer/ master (2 years) and PhD study (3 years)).
Within the Modernization program Slovensko 21 (Slovakia 21), it is expected that the students from Macedonia complete at least the 2nd degree of the university study in the Slovak Republic, i.e. engineer/master study. (more information on study programs in Slovakia).
Cost and scholarship
The Ministry grants to the Macedonian students during their 10-month language and academic preparation:
* 280,- EUR/month to pay accommodation, boarding and other expenses related to their study in Slovakia;
* single contribution in the amount of 70,- EUR.
* Macedonian citizens can subsequently study at the Slovak public universities under the same conditions as the Slovak citizens; the tuition for regular study at Slovak public universities is free of charge.
Application procedure
All interested applicants should apply by filling the application form in English and include following documents:
1. The study results from the College or the Higher Education Institution (issued in English verified by educational institution or officially verified translation into English)
2. Birth certificate (verified translation into English or Slovak)
3. Curriculum Vitae (in English, signed)
4. passport copy (with photo and personal information)
5. Medical Certificate
6. The document of integrity (“Potvrda za neosuduvan”, verified translation into English)
7. Document on level of education (with apostille- verified with Ministry of Justice, plus verified translation into English or Slovak) Important: This document can be submitted additionally after deadline as soon as it is issued by the relevant educational institution.
