Global Humanitarian Vision Awards

The Global Humanitarian Forum launches the Global Humanitarian Forum Vision Awards in an effort to further raise awareness of the human dimension of climate change through photo and video journalism. The aim of the contest is to further raise awareness of the human dimension of climate change and to document the implementation of its Weather Info for All (WIFA) Initiative through photojournalism and video.

Through this project, the Forum seeks to encourage young visual media artists between the ages of 18 and 35 to share their photo and video projects illustrating the human impact of climate change.

Award
The three finalists (one per category) will have the opportunity to acquire both professional experience and exposure, as well as to collaborate and share their perspectives with other young visual media professionals. The three prize recipients will be drawn from a selection of 15 finalists (five per category). All applicants’ projects will be presented to third-party organisations, which will have the opportunity to contact applicants directly should they be interested in their work.

Submission process
The applicants are encouraged to apply online by following steps:
1. fill out and submit application form
2. format for Photojournalism Projects: .jpeg / .png / .gif files at a size within 18 x 24 cm or 7 x 10 inches and a maximum size of 4MB per file
3. format for Video Journalism Projects: upload video journalism project on YouTube.com (max 1GB, not longer than 10 minutes) and paste the link into the application form for submission.

NB. All submitted files (photo and video) should be named with the applicant’s first and last names, separated by an underscore and numbered starting with: 01 (e.g. John_Doe01.jpg, John_Doe02.jpg, etc)
