Technical University of Ostrava

The Technical University of Ostrava (VŠB-TUO) is a technical and economic institution of higher education located in the city of Ostrava, Moravian-Silesian Region. The predecessor of the Mining University of Ostrava was the Mining School in Pribram which came into existence by the emperor’s decree in 1849. The University has about 24,000 students who study at seven faculties. From this number, about 1,100 students are from abroad.

ERASMUS
If the student wishes to come to Ostrava as an Erasmus Student he/she has to check with the home institution Erasmus coordinator whether the home University has an Erasmus agreement with VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava and to obtain application materials. The first contact must be at the home University Erasmus office where students can obtain all the necessary information concerning – study in terms of the of Erasmus programme. All application documents must be sent to the coordinator of your receiving faculty at VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava and must be duly signed by the Erasmus coordinator (either Institutional or Departmental) at your home institution. To choose courses for your Learning Agreement please consult the internet pages of each faculty.

Deadlines for submitting forms:
15 MAY – for the winter semester and for the whole academic year
30 NOVEMBER – for the summer semester

Georgius Agricola Scholarship

The Scholarship is determined in the framework of integral cooperation for the support of study of foreign students in the bachelor´s, master´s and doctoral study programmes which are realized by VŠB – TUO. The Georgius Agricola Scholarship is determined for paying expenses connected with a short-term study of a foreign student in bachelor´s, master´s and doctoral study programmes realized by VŠB – TUO for the period from one to five months; it is especially determined for completing chosen subjects, a project completion, a seminar work, a part of thesis.
