Research Assistant position on Query-Driven Data Acquisition from Web Datasources with the Information Systems Group at Oxford University

Duration: Available for 3 years, starting September 1, 2010 (exact start date is negotiable)

Salary: up to 34,500 GBP, depending on experience

This is a project funded by the UK government (EPSRC) on web query
processing. The goal is to learn which web accesses are most
efficient for answering a given query. This will involve a combination
of logic-based techniques (e.g. analysis of binding patterns and
integrity constraints) and reinforcement-learning based methods
for sampling web accesses. Candidates with a research background in
database systems, database theory, and reinforcement learning are
welcome to apply.
