Description

Applications are invited for Facebook fellowship program available to domestic and international students for full-time PhD accredited doctoral program focusing on a topic or field relevant to Facebook like

  • Architecture;
  • Data Mining;
  • Databases;
  • Distributed Systems;
  • Computer Vision;
  • Human-Computer Interaction & Social Computing;
  • Economics and Computation;
  • Machine Learning;
  • Natural Language Processing;
  • Networking & Operating Systems;
  • Programming Languages & Compilers;
  • Security & Privacy;
  • Software Engineering.

Up to twelve (12) academic fellowships are awarded for a period of for two years. Facebook will provide you funds for your research project in one of the previous mentioned fields and is going to pay the full tuition fee for you doctoral studies at the University you are enrolled in. Note that you are not going to take the Fellowship at the company of Facebook, you will work on your research project in your university where you study. After you complete your research you will be asked to go Facebook headquarters to present your work. There is a possibility for a Internship in Facebook if they like your research.

Eligibility

The Fellowship Program is open to full-time PhD students *(US and international) enrolled during the current academic year and studying computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system architecture, or a related area.

*(You are not eligible to participate in this Program if you are a national or legal resident of those countries in which the United States has embargoed goods (including, without limitation, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, and Syria)

Fellowship

Each Facebook Fellowship includes several benefits:

  • Tuition and fees will be paid for the academic year(s) (Facebook will pay directly to the University you are currently enrolled in)
  • US $37,000 yearly grant ( for your research project);
  • Paid visit to Facebook HQ to present your research;
  • Opportunity for paid internship.

Please Note that the Award recipient will be responsible for all taxes, fees and expenses not expressly included in the Award, such any check or wire transfer incurred.
