Deadline: 1 November 2014
Open to: visual communication designers or design collectives around the world
Award: $ 10,000 (ca. € 7,800)
Yamaha Corporations (Music and Motor) are pleased to introduce the Graphic Design Award by Yamaha 2015 competition, a new international design award that looks for new designs of marks, symbols, and pictograms that, in a universal way, promote the theme of “concept” in the realest sense of the world. The competition theme is “Graphic form of KANDO”. The theme comes from the Japanese word and philosophy, “KANDO”, which means for the heart “to be deeply moved”. The philosophy of Kando sits at the core of both Yamaha brands. The GDAY Award hopes to seek out new graphic ideas that will become part of a wider universal language the corporations can share.
The competition is open to established and emerging visual communication designers or design collectives.
The Grand Prix is $ 10,000 (approximately € 7,800).
In order to enter the competition you must complete the online application form HERE. For all digital work, please send your completed data converted in the following format: JPEG with the resolution at 72 pixels/in. All data should have RGB colour setting. You will need to describe your content/concept within 200 words.
The deadline to apply is 1 November 2014. The Grand-prix will be announced by global media in January 2015.
