AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH-UST) in Krakow is the second largest technical university in Poland. AGH-UST is one of the best, most prestigious Polish universities, achieving high positions in rankings of institutions of higher education. The university was established in 1919, and was formerly known as the University of Mining and Metallurgy. At 15 faculties, and also at the Interfaculty School of Energetics and the Interfaculty School of Biomedical Engineering there are over 34 000 full-time and part-time students, and over 500 of doctoral students.

Polish Government Scholarship
Detailed information with respect to this issue may be obtained at the Polish Embassy in a relevant country. In order to receive the scholarship, the candidates have to pass an examination determining their familiarity with the Polish language and general knowledge. Candidates with best results may study in Poland as holders of the Polish Government Scholarship (2010, the scholarship amounts to PLN 900 per month).
